Matthew Fischer

Matt received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and his Masters of Professional Counseling from Lakeland College. His primary areas of study included human development, interpersonal relationships, and behavior. Matt believes that all individuals begin life on a path to reach their fullest potential but often face challenging life events and relational interactions that sway them off course. Matt feels his purpose is to assist his clients with finding their way back onto their path. To accomplish this, he provides a safe, trusting, and judgment-free environment for his clients to work towards positive emotional and behavioral change.

Matt enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples primarily using Cognitive Behavior Therapeutic techniques but incorporates Solution-Focused, Positive Psychological, Strengths-Based, and Interpersonal strategies for an eclectic approach to client care. He loves helping his clients discover and utilize their strengths, skills, and positive attributes. Matt also has interests in communication skills building for clients who struggle with interpersonal as well as work relationships. He feels effective communication strategies greatly contribute to successful relationships and believes healthy interpersonal relationships are paramount to client wellbeing.

Matt grew up in the Fox River Valley area and currently resides there with his wife and two children. He feels the Valley has much to offer and is an excellent place to live and raise a family. In his leisure time, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends camping, hiking, snow skiing, and attending sporting events. He also enjoys working on home improvement projects.
