My name is Tracy Fritz MS, APNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC and I recently started working at Sherman Counseling/Refresh Mental Health in Appleton, Wisconsin in February 2025. I graduated in 2008 as a Family Nurse Practitioner and had worked in primary care/internal medicine, cardiology, college medicine, OB/GYN, and Occupational medicine. Most recently, I worked for Optum HouseCalls where I did annual Medicare wellness visits for members of United Health Care’s Medicare Advantage program including those 18-100+yo mostly chronic disease care management and referrals to supportive services/providers such as Optum Behavioral Health. My professional interests include perinatal/peripartum and peri/post menopause mental health disorders, pediatric and adult neurodevelopmental disorders, and older adult mental health illness.
My interest in mental health was enriched when I witnessed the number of HouseCalls members struggling with mental health and were unable to get the services they needed in a timely way due to the lack of providers available to see them. I am also passionate about working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders and helping them and their families meet the challenges faced with a goal of promoting a fully productive lifestyle.
When I meet with a client, I want them to feel comfortable and safe. My goal is to allow them to come as they are and feel uninhibited to reflect on the problems they face in life, tell me their story, and work with them to help improve their daily functioning.
Fun Fact about me. I love meteorology. I would probably be working as a storm chaser or at the NSSL lab in Oklahoma City if I wasn’t a nurse. My other passion is marine biology, especially manatees, sting rays, and most marine mammals. I love cruising and regularly go on cruises at least once or twice a year with my family and friends. I’m married to my husband Adam, and I have two children, Alex and Caiden. We also have two dogs, Stella and Reimer.
